RSC16 - Joining the party a little late

I just discovered the Rainbow Scrap Challenge at So Scrappy. Each month brings a new color assignment and the challenge is to create quilt blocks using your scraps from that color family.

I have decided to work on 2 different blocks throughout the year. Hopefully, by the end of the year I will have enough of each block to put together a quilt. My first block will be a log cabin made with 1-1/2" strips. I am aiming for a quilt like the one depicted here - Log Cabin Love. The second block will be made with 2" strips like the one shown here - Garlic Knots.

The color theme for April is Monarch - orange with black or brown highlights. I don't have a lot of orange in my stash so I will also use this month to catch up on the color theme from March - purple with a dash of yellow.

Here is my progress so far...

Hope you had some quilty fun today too!

  11. So glad you've joined the group. I started a year ago and Angela has been a wonderful support and encouragement to me as a new blogger. You have already brought some new ideas like the Garlic Knot, new to me. Have fun with the colors and feel free to use them your own way.
